ALUMINUM:
Window components shall be extruded of Aluminum alloy in accordance
with CAN/CSA A440.
GLASS & GLAZING:
METRO 130 windows shall be double glazed using 15.8mm
(5/8”) airspace as a normal standard.
Windows will accommodate various combinations of glass
thickness dependent on architectural and engineering
requirements (subject to the constraint of overall
sealed unit thickness of 22.2mm (7/8”).
Glass in both fixed lites and sashes (except sliding
vents, channel glazed in a flexible P.V.C. gasket)
are exterior glazed with an extruded aluminum glazing
bead. All windows shall be shop glazed at AWD’s
plant, unless size constraints or site conditions
require field glazing.
MAIN PERIMETER FRAME:
Main frame is a nail on type with a 31.75mm (1 ¼”)
nailing fin.
Window is profiled sealed at mitre joints with high quality
silicone. Window is pressure equalized at drainage cavities. SLIDING VENT:
Corners shall be mitred, mechanically joined and assembled
around sealed unit and gasket. A positive lock
is mounted 4” from the bottom of the sash and
a plunger night lock is positioned at the top of the
sash to ensure a positive locking system. Nylon
rollers have been tested to 25,000 cycles. Limit
stops are optional for restricted opening applications. CASEMANT, AWNING, HOPPER VENT
The sash shall be weatherstripped utilizing a 360
degree black finger seal of santoprene rubber, closing
against the exterior face of the window. Sash
will have one or two cam type handles locking positively
against keepers.
HARDWARE:
The stainless steel hinges are completely concealed
when sash is in closed position. All screws
shall be stainless steel with sash utilizing stainless
steel hinges.
FINISH:
Standard colors are as per AWD color chart; White
or Rideau Brown. Optional architectural colors
or anodized finish available.
THERMAL BREAK:
A high density polyurethane poured and debridged thermal break
offering thermal resistance and excellent structural qualities.
