FEATURES AND SPECIFICATIONS

 

GENERAL:
AWD M230 Series rebate frame.  These windows conform to the CAN/CSA-A440 specifications.

GLASS & GLAZING:
METRO M230 windows shall be double glazed using 15.8mm (5/8”) airspace as a normal standard.
Windows will accommodate various combinations of glass thickness dependent on architectural and engineering requirements.  (Subject to the constraint of sealed unit overall maximum thickness of 22.2mm (7/8”).

Glass in both fixed lites and sashes (except sliding vents, channel glazed in a flexible P.V.C. gasket) shall be laid in place, glazed from the exterior, with glass bedded with glazing tape.  Exterior glazing bead to be an aluminum extruded glazing bead.

MAIN PERIMETER FRAME: (THERMALLY BROKEN)
Main frame is a 17.5mm (11/16”) rebate flanged frame. 
Sill frame sections have a full condensation channel. Drain holes drain glazing chamber below sealed units to the exterior. Window is pressure equalized at drainage cavities.
Head and jambs are supplied with factory drilled or coin punched holes for fastening with spacing as per specification, sills utilize a window anchor clip with quantity to match punching of head.

SLIDING WINDOW VENT:
Corners shall be mitred, mechanically joined and assembled around sealed unit and gasket.  A positive lock is mounted 4” from the bottom of the sash and a plunger night lock is positioned at the top of the sash to ensure a positive locking system.  Nylon rollers have been tested to 25,000 cycles.  Limit stops are optional for restricted opening applications. Night lock has automatic locking feature.

CASEMENT AND AWNING:
Corners shall be mitred, mechanically joined, and sealed.  Vent windows will have one or two cam type handles locking positively against keepers mounted on frame or mullion members.  Limit stops are optional for restricted opening applications.

HARDWARE:
The stainless steel hinges are completely concealed when sash is in closed position.  All screws shall be stainless steel with sash utilizing stainless steel hinges.

ColoursFINISH:
Standard colors are as per AWD color chart; White or Rideau Brown.  Optional architectural colors or anodized finish available.

THERMAL BREAK:
A high density polyurethane poured and debridged thermal break offering thermal resistance and excellent structural qualities. 

OPTIONAL DEFLECTION HEADER :
An aluminum channel being an integral part of a window or door. Designed to accept the vertical movement of the structure that the window or door is attached to.
